Television & Radio News Interviews

With a background in public speaking and theater, I excel at passionately and persuasively sharing stories and information in a way that will stick with audiences. I prioritize strong relationship-building with media sources so that I am consistently sought after for expert counsel and compelling news stories.

Feature Articles & Op-Eds

My strong media relationships, powerful storytelling, and ability to simplify complex topics for wide audiences, enable me to consistently place stories, interviews, and op-eds in top press outlets. Op-eds, especially, are a great tool for driving social or media conversations in your favor.

Podcasts & Webinars

Webinars and podcasts can be a great way to dive deeper into subjects you want to share with your audiences. I have experience writing for, hosting, and producing both live and pre-recorded podcasts and webinars, and I frequently appear as a guest on external productions. These are great mediums for building a more personal rapport with audiences and for conveying more complicated information.

Media Kits

A well-designed and accessible media kit is crucial for your company or organization's branding and media relations. I use this tool to help explain the core facts and mission of your company to journalists, shareholders, potential investors, and interested consumers in a neat, digestible package. Anyone visiting your media kit can quickly determine the key people, key facts, and key information about your business or organization, as well as access easily downloadable assets such as logos, graphics, biographies, and high-resolution photos (including in-situ product photos and employee headshots). This will save both their time and yours, and drastically improve your media relations.

Press Releases

Press releases offer a critical opportunity to bring attention to your brand, product or mission. A well-timed press releases can be used to make important announcements, launch a product or campaign, highlight the work of your team, celebrate successes, issue criticisms or condemnations, bring special attention to an issue or story of import, or insert your organization into a broader media or social conversation. A well-crafted press release can be an excellent tool for "shopping around" a story to various media outlets; but by first establishing strong media relationships, outlets will begin to subscribe to these updates and start picking up your story automatically!

Legislative Advocacy & Grassroots Lobbying

A favorite strategy of mine, I love lobbying lawmakers to take a stake in my interests. I often work with their staffs to draft helpful policies and regulations, and then deploy grassroots pressure campaigns to get those polices passed. I also excel at delivering incisive and compelling testimony, and training others to follow suit. This is  a great way to create broad, lasting impact.

Community Education & Engagement

Community education is a great way to get your audiences involved and invested in the goals of your organization. Utilizing infographics, listicles, information break-down videos, influencer take-overs, action alerts, petitions, live events, and interactive, highly responsive social media brand personas are all great ways to drive community engagement.

Press Conferences

I have extensive experience organizing, hosting, and speaking at both in-person and virtual press conferences. A well-organized and well-rehearsed press conference is often key to getting your story placed in prime television, radio, and print news outlets. This creates crucial buzz for nearly any type of communications campaign.

Washington Privacy Act

My testimony before the WA State House Civil Rights & Judiciary Committee on Substitute Senate Bill 5062 during the 2021-22 Legislative session. While I staunchly support the legislature adopting a strong data privacy bill, I testified in strong opposition to this particular bill. The Washington Privacy Act was drafted by powerful corporate interests, including Microsoft, and I do not believe that its goal was truly consumer protection. Fortunately, despite its strong corporate backing, my colleagues and I were able to defeat this bill for three straight years, while we worked with lawmakers to draft a better bill.
